Turn of the Wheel

Seasonal gatherings to pause, reflect, and mark life’s transitions with intention.

Let's plan one!

Turn of the Wheel gatherings create space to practice what our culture rarely teaches: how to pause and mark endings and beginnings with intention. Through seasonal reflection and shared experience, participants leave feeling more grounded, clear, and connected to themselves and the rhythm of the season.

We meet at the eight seasonal turning points of the Celtic wheel, the solstices, equinoxes, and cross-quarter days. Each season asks something different of us. Winter invites rest. Spring calls for emergence. Summer asks us to engage fully. Autumn teaches release. By marking these rhythms together, we practice letting go, holding the unknown, and trusting what comes next.

The natural world shows us how to navigate thresholds and transitions. Every season is a small death and rebirth. The wheel of the year is a framework that offers us eight opportunities each year to practice: What am I releasing? What wants to emerge? How do I hold both grief and hope?

In community, these practices become sustainable. We witness each other's transitions. We learn we're not alone in the cycles. We remember that after every ending, something new begins. Together, we listen for what is shifting and choose how to meet it.

"The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures. It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth in numberless blades of grass and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers. It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth and of death, in ebb and in flow. I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life. And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment." - Rabindranath Tagore

This space may resonate with you if:

  • You feel drawn to seasonal rhythms or nature-based reflection

  • You crave intentional pauses rather than constant momentum

  • You enjoy thoughtful conversation and shared exploration

  • You are navigating change or transition

  • You want community without pressure or dogma

❋ Intentional Structure

Each gathering is a mix of teaching about the season, spacious time for personal sharing, seasonal poetry and activity to honor what was and what is becoming, and a grounding closing.

❋ Collaborative Energy

Connection is a core part of the gathering. You'll learn just as much from each other's wisdom, experiences, and stories as you will from the seasonal content itself.

❋ Facilitation

Guided by Jessica, a trained facilitator. Everyone will have a chance to share and be seen.

❋ Poetry and Ritual

Each gathering weaves seasonal poetry and readings with experiential ritual. You'll engage both mind and body—reflecting, sharing, and participating in activities that honor the turning of the wheel.

❋ Sacred Space

A spiritual practice grounded in nature and the wisdom of seasonal cycles.

❋ Between Gatherings

Participants leave with journal prompts and a tangible practice or object (like a candle lit with personal intention) to continue the seasonal work beyond the gathering.

❋ Flexibile Framework

Groups can book one seasonal gathering at a time, a series of four (solstices + equinoxes), or a full series of eight (includes 4 cross-quarter festivals). You can start anytime during the year.

❋ Support for Hosts

I provide guidance on seasonal decor and food to help you create an inviting atmosphere. You gather your people, provide the space and refreshments; I bring the facilitation, materials, and ritual.

❋ Origins of Wheel of the Year

The wheel of the year is inspired by Celtic and Northern European traditions and has been popularized by modern Pagans in the mid-20th century. These gatherings are not based in a religion but informed by Celtic tradition and personal experience of the seasons.

❋ Only Curiosity Requried

Participants do not need any prior spiritual or seasonal experience to attend, curiosity and an open mind are useful. These gatherings are not about perfection or performance, they are about pausing and noticing.

  • Your Community, My Facilitation

Turn of the Wheel gatherings happen within your existing community, with the people you want to share this connective practice with.

Sometimes that's a group who already knows each other well. Sometimes you're the connector, bringing together people from different parts of your life. Either way, your presence creates the familiarity and safety that allows people to show up more fully.

This partnership is what makes the experience work: you bring the people who trust you. I provide the structure, guidance, and care that holds both depth and ease. Together we create the conditions for a sustainable, meaningful seasonal practice.

How It Works
  • You identify a group of people you'd like to gather with. I recommend between 3-13 people. This could be friends, family, colleagues, community members. As the host, you provide a comfortable space for the gathering (your home, a community space, or outdoor location).

  • Select what feels right for your group:

    • Single gathering - Gather for one seasonal turning point to experience this practice ($250 for up to 13 people)

    • Series of 4 - Mark the solstices and equinoxes across a full year ($225/gathering for up to 13 people)

    • Series of 8 - Complete one full turn of the wheel with all solar and cross-quarter festivals ($200/gathering for up to 13 people)

  • I come to you with everything needed including opening rituals, reflection prompts, seasonal activities, and materials. Each gathering is approximately 2-2.5 hours. You provide the space and people; I hold the container and guide the experience.

  • Together, you create a regular practice of pausing at nature's turning points, reflecting on transitions, and supporting each other through the ongoing cycles of letting go and beginning again.

  • "What I've found here is a true gift: the chance to gather with others in openness and vulnerability, to participate in beautiful, thoughtful rituals that give voice to my own feelings, and to listen deeply to what each season is calling forth in me. The tangible objects and practices I take away serve as touchstones throughout the year, keeping the insights and feelings I've uncovered alive and present long after our time together ends. This practice has become an anchor for my spiritual life - one that honors where I've been while meeting me exactly where I am now."

  • "I've attended several of Jessica's seasonal gatherings, including a weekend retreat celebrating the Summer Solstice. Jessica creates meaningful pauses from daily life, offering space to connect with nature and with others. Since these gatherings, I find myself looking up more often—gazing at the moon, noticing birds, watching wind move through branches. She has a gift for balancing reflection, healing, wonder, and fun in ways that stay with you!"

    - Bonney, Turn of the Wheel participant

  • "Jessica has a true knack for facilitating groups with humor, depth of research, and flexibility within a variety of group dynamics. I especially appreciate her graceful way of balancing free share with structured activities to entice a hearty discussion."
